Calculate your cat’s meals based on its individual needs.

Each cat is unique and feeding amounts will vary. A general rule is to feed your cat between 2% and 4% of its ideal adult body weight. For kittens, pregnant, and nursing moms keep in mind they will require up to 4 times that of an adult cat or can be free fed with food consumed within 30 minutes.

Our product is energy and nutrient dense. Recommended daily feeding amounts should be used as a starting point and not be considered an absolute requirement. When starting a new diet such as Fegnion it is imperative to frequently monitor your cat’s weight. We highly advise weighing your fur baby at the start of feeding Fegnion and every week and adjust the feeding amount appropriately. Please use the Fegnion feeding calculator as an initial recommendation and adjust amounts accordingly.

Taking all factors into consideration, the goal would be to divide the Fegnion recommended daily feeding amount into a frequency of 3 to 4 smaller meals daily. However, twice daily of an appropriate portion seems to be the norm. Finding a schedule that is optimal for you and your cat would be the best. No matter what your schedule dictates, it is important to remember your cat’s individuality and tailoring a diet to its needs. To help your cat adjust to a healthy Fegnion raw diet, we recommend a gradual transition. Please refer to our transitioning recommendation.
